Wow look at me now and read about my story of how I became a different dog.  Over a few years I had started to loose my good looks with hair falling out all over the place and my skin was incredibly itchy. 

I had scratched myself raw and couldn't seem to get rid of the smell no matter how many times I asked my patient owner to bath me.   Finally I couldn't stand it any more and asked mum to take me to the nice people at vetcare.  She was very worried I wouldn't be able to be fixed or that it would cost heaps. 

I met Alex who gave me a good look over and then asked mum if I couldl stay for the day so I could have some special tests.  They did something called a skin scraping where they scraped some of the yucky stuff stuck to my poor skin off

onto a glass slide and then I saw one of the vets having a look under the microscope at this sample.  I heard her say to Alex that there were no Demodex or sarcoptes mites ( what ever they are) and so I was releived to find out my conditon was not contagious.

Next the nice nurses gave me a special bath with lovely smelling shampoo and a full body massage for 10 minutes while they worked the shampoo in.  I felt like a new dog when I came out and almost all the smell had gone.

Mum collected me and brough home a whole cacophany of pills and potions for me to take every day.  Luckily Vetcare let mum pay off all these treatments as some of the pills were quite expensive but she knew I was worth it!  I heard her talking to her friends saying I would need the nice shampooing experience twice a week and some of the pills were antibiotics, some were antifungals for a yeast infection and there were some tasty little green ones which completely stopped my itching I had been suffering with for so long.  So all in all I was a happy girl even if I did rattle a bit some days!

After a few weeks we went back to see Alex and he was very happy to see me and was amazed at how quickly my skin was improving and how my hair had started to grow back.

We got some more pills, I think I was on them for about 6 weeks altogether and now I only need the occasional green one and a shampoo every week to keep me looking as gorgeous as I was when I was young.  I hope you enjoy reading my story and looking at the pictures of me as I complete my transformation.
