Caring for your pet

Dr Alex Melrose

B.V.Sc., M.R.C.V.S.

Practice Principal

Alex checking Vegas (our clinic's 3 year old chocolate Burmese) over for injuries from lying around too much (Even the average cat sleeps 16 hours a day! The sleepiest of all mammals).

Vegas's more rounded and definitely more silent shadow Jim, would be close by, probably eating some stolen nurses sandwiches. Keep an eye out for these two cats in the waiting room looking for attention.

Alex also has a fantastic Black Brussels Griffon, Prince. He's friendly to one & all, knows lots of tricks, is sneaky, very fast & can swim. Check him out on his facebook page.

What is your main role helping out at vetcare?

Chief greeter, food and toy tester and making sure the new beds are soft enough

What is your favourite toy?

Anything that doesn't belong to me!

Who is your favourite friend?

Here I am showing off the latest cat fashion

What is the coolest thing that has ever happened to you?

I was featured in one of Rachel Hale's photography books eating sausages and I have been on a few ads on TV.

What don't you like?

Having my nails cut and being on a diet!

This is my friend Rommel, I love all the dogs and help socialise

puppies when they come in

What is your favourite food?

Everything Im not allowed especially the nurses sandwiches that they try to hide from me!

Do you have any weird medical problems?

They say I am overweight but I'm just big boned. Sometimes when I get stressed it hurts to wee and I have to go a lot and need special medicine to help it stop hurting.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for the wonderful care you gave our dear Beatrice when she had her surgery yesterday. It made it much easier to leave her there knowing she would be in good hands. She is doing fine and her bandage is still intact!
